Long Handle Horn Scoop

Long Handle Horn Scoop

This Long Handle Horn Scoop is a perfect tool for portioning out one's favorite organic, fairly traded loose leaf teas or herbs, ensuring a precise measure for an optimal infusion. This exquisite accessory, available from Powered by People, introduces a distinctive element to the steeping ritual.

This unique, hand-crafted horn product is sustainably made from the horns of the Ankole-Watusi, or Ankole Longhorn, a breed of cattle native to western Uganda and parts of East Africa. These distinctive horns are a recycled byproduct of the food industry, supporting local cattle keeping communities through their purchase directly from the cattle keepers. The horn is then meticulously hand-carved and polished according to Maadili designs by a small-scale artisan community in Uganda. Each piece showcases high variability in color, ranging from shades of white to brown to black, ensuring that no two scoops are identical. The approximate size is 6.5" x 1". Hand wash only.
